I often get asked about my finances. So I wrote these simple rules I use when dealing with my finances.

Buy nothing.

I don’t buy many clothes or any other equipment. I don’t subscribe to magazines or go to coffee shops or restaurants. I opt to save all my money for adventures. So I always move all the money to a savings account when I have the payday.

Save everything

When I get paid, I put all of my excess money into a savings account and leave only 100 euros to my main account, so I can’t spend money without thinking about it first. If I need to buy something, I have to stop and think, do I really need this item, or is it just the want. Would I rather have freedom and adventures?

Buy less, use well, make it last

When I do buy things, I often search for preloved items from our local recycling center. I try to be as eco-friendly as possible, and of course, saving money is a bonus. If I’m going to use the item for a longer period of time, I buy the new one. These items are quality and timeless items such as Jackets, woolen sweaters, silky undergarments, shoes, etc. you get the point.

Let me know if you have any minimalist money hacks, I’d love to know!
